Ok so tonight I was chillin with a friend and watching him play Guitar Hero Rock version on the Wii (and I was singing too...lol) and it had some good songs and bands grant you like Love Gun---KISS, Unskinney Bop---Poison, Free Bird---Skynard, but the had some Lincon Park (check my spellin there....lol) and one of the songs played tonight was by Queen. It was this song that I realised he knew the song but not the group!! WHAT???? I thought everyone knew them! Well not if your a teenager I guess. So his mother and I were talking bout the up coming movie being done on Queen and that the guy that played Borat is playin Freddie Mercury! He looks so much like him! Well come to find out my friend here DID NOT know who Mercury was??? Again.......WHAT???????? So you should have heard that convo trying to tell him who Mercury was!!! Finally we had to turn to Google to show him!!!
So I sit here thinking. Im only in my 20s and I had some cool parents and grandparents who made sure I knew a little bit bout several areas of music. Any thing for Lefty Frizzell, to the Big Bopper to Chuck Berry to KISS to Poisen to Temptaions. Motown to Rock to 50s and on!!! Thanks to the family for the GREAT musical lessons of life!!!!
Ok thats my "you gotta be kidding me", funny moment of the day!!!!
Off to bed!
Peace out

Sticks and Stones
We've all hear that rhyme "Sticks and stone my break my bones but words will never hurt me".
"He who holds his tongue is wise" Proverbs 10:19
That stuck a cord with me as I sat here working on sermons for the youth. I got to thinking back about this past year.....what all have I said that hurt those who I love? "Words will never hurt me".... um yeah they do!!!! Our words are kinda like toothpaste ( I know a strange way to think about it). If we take a tube of toothpaste and sqeeze it all out there is absolutely no way we can put it all back in the tube! Once we say something we cant suck it back in! Although that would be super cool if we could!!!
Just a thought as we enter a new year..... Can I hold my tongue?
