Well here I go..... Back to school!

Wow.  Who knew that I would ever make it back to school?  It has not been as easy road to get here though!  You know that saying "Make sure you have all your ducks in a row"  Haha mine weren't even in the same pond much less in a row!

Back story.... A year ago I had this feeling that I couldn't shake!  And I have know realized that was God talking!  And he was really persistent!  And I was running...as fast and as hard as I could run!   Well every door that I tried to open to find a new career or to start school just slammed in my face!  Hard!  Well I eventually stopped running and He started opening all these other doors.  All of a sudden I was in front of "big church" preaching!  What?  Yep that's right!  I was given an amazing chance to preach at Union the Church at Chelsea Park!  (My church)  With this I realized just what that strange nagging feeling that I couldn't shake was.... God saying "Hey this is where I want you... Sharing my words with all who will listen"

So I started searching for schools that would help me in this journey!  I land on Birmingham Southerns website!   Soon I was filling out applications, writing essays and asking for recommendation letters from people at church for admission to their school!  I started filling out applications for financial aide with them (this is where most doors started slamming shut on me before).  Asking once again for those same people who wrote letters for me for admissions to now right them again for a scholarship!

After a short (and nerve wracking) time I got a letter saying that I was accepted into BSC!!  WOW!!!  Now that I had that behind me I still had to wait on the Office of Religion to approve my scholarship!  After a long interview with four people I received notification that I had received that scholarship.... one that covered ALL of the cost of going to college!!!  How awesome is God?!?!?!?

I didn't do this all on my own.  I had spent hours and hours, days and days in prayer asking God if this is what I am to do to please help me get there and help me get past the nerves that were piling up on me.  And He did just that!

I got a call in Jan asking why I wasn't enrolled in classes yet at BSC?  Ummm because my acceptance letter said that I was approved to start in the fall... not the spring!  They were like um yeah that was supposed to be spring, that's a mistake on our part!  So that was a Thursday.  the next Tuesday I was on campus and registering for classes.  The following Monday was orientation and Tuesday was the First day of class!!!!!

All of a sudden all my "ducks" were in the same pond again and in a row!  God is just awesome like that!!!!!

So now as I drive I thank God for this amazing chance to learn more to spread his word!!!

Movies and God..... Can you relate the 2?

Ok so I admit that I am a little behind the times on seeing some of the good movies of the past.  Last night I saw We Are Marshall and tonight I watched the first movie in the Indiana Jones series.  I dont know if anyone else has seen the connection with God in BOTH movies but my brain clicked it all together.

We Are Marshall:

Short version when the plane crash took the lives of the players and staff of the schools football team the whole town lost all hope in ever returning to "normal".  But you had one Coach who saw the potential and heart in the remaining people associated with the team.  Came in and worked close with the remaining team members that didnt want to give up , learned their hearts and showed them that they could "live" again.

God has worked and still works in the same way!  Back a few thousand years ago you had those who didnt believe in what God had to offer.  Like the remaing four members of the team, God had followers who didnt give up on him even though they were being tortured and killed for believeing.  Then God sent a "coach".  He sent his only son down to earth to learn the hearts of those around him and show them what they have to look forward to.....eternal life.  Like the team of freshman and people who had never played before,  God uses us, the believers and newly converted believers, to go out and show the rest of the world that no matter how hard trials are that there is someone on your side in your corner willing to help  you reach out and overcome.

So are we the town who doubts or the team that never quits?

Indiana Jones : Lost Ark

Well as a Christian I watched this one and was remembering the bible stories of the Ark of the Covenant.  With a little help from my aunt and uncle on the parts I got confused with!  These people on search of the Ark amazed me at how much they didnt "know" or "understand" the abailities God had in protecting it!!!!  As they were talking bout these "silly" beliefs I was talking to my aunt and uncle bout the things that were in the Ark.  I remembered 2 of the 3.  Aarons Staff, the Ten Commandments, and they had to remind me of the jar of manna.

So I wonder if someone were to find the Ark would they be brave enough to open it?  NOT ME!!!  If a soldier of the time was stuck dead for just touching the Ark to steady it back up while in movement, Im not touching it to see if that stuff is really in there.  Plus when opened, if like the movie, I know that I am not worthy to look upon the face of God.  One day I know I will see him....one day!!

Why cant we be like the Marshall football team and believe that anything is possible with God.  That he's our "coach" and that we are to help so the others that no matter how hard things are that there is hope of getting through it?  And that there is the greater things in the world that prove to those who dont believe that God is there.  We may not have the Ark to go "see look"  but we have so many other things to show his love, grace and exsistance.

Are we willing to go against the odds and get out there to tell em?  Or just sit back and watch to see if someone else will??????????

Woohoo He's Home!!

Ok so the last couple of days have been wonderful!  Thursday (1-6-11) my mother, uncle and I all got Mothers SUV and trucked it down to Demopolis Alabama to greet Justin and 100+ other troops.  Wow what a great feeling to see these men and women file into Demopolis High Schools gym and have family and the community there to welcome them home!

My brother has been deployed to Iraq for a year with the 2101st Transportation Company!!  Wow..... who new just how many little things someone could miss in that time!  Waking up Friday morning and being able to walk down the hall at home and hug my brother and say good morning was a wonderful feeling!!!

Well here are a few photos from Thursdays ceremony welcoming the troops of the 2101st Transportation Company home!!!!!
